Who is Pamela?
“A Place to Feel Safe, Loved, and at Home.”
Pamela’s House is named in honor of Pamela Funk (April 2, 1958 – July 22, 2023) — a woman whose life reflected the heart of Jesus through her compassion, faith, and unconditional love for others.
Pamela loved Jesus deeply. Her faith guided everything she did — the way she cared, the way she served, and the way she loved. She believed in seeing the good in every situation and every person, always finding light where others saw darkness. Her joy, hope, and positivity lifted those around her and reminded them that God can bring beauty from any circumstance.
For over 13 years, Pamela devoted her life to helping young women facing unplanned pregnancies. She opened four crisis centers, creating safe places for young women who had nowhere else to turn. Through these centers, she supported over 500 women and children, offering counsel, guidance, and a listening ear. She helped find safe homes for mothers choosing to raise their children, assisted with adoption when needed, and ensured each woman knew her life — and her child’s life — mattered deeply.
Pamela was a natural counselor. People trusted her because she listened with her heart. Whether guiding a frightened young girl or comforting a struggling mother, she reflected the grace and love of Christ in every conversation. She also counseled married women, encouraging them to build stronger families rooted in faith and love.
Family was everything to Pamela. She cherished her children and adored her grandchildren — always making her home a place of laughter, warmth, and belonging. Every child who entered her home felt like family, because that’s who Pamela was — a woman who loved like Jesus and made everyone feel seen, valued, and loved.
Pamela’s House continues that legacy.
It’s more than an after-school program — it’s a home away from home. A place where children feel safe, cared for, and loved. Inspired by Pamela’s faith and example, we strive to nurture each child’s heart, encourage positivity, and create a culture of kindness, family, and hope.
Pamela’s life reminds us that love changes everything — and at Pamela’s House, that same love continues to shine.
